Should I decide to accept your mission.... you have to have the pattern. That's actually the biggest battle. I'm a perfectionist. Basically I drive me-own self crazy with worry about the quality of the costume you are paying for. If this is for competition then I may consider it. I know that sounds funny, but if I am going to put that much time and energy into a costume then I might as well be constructing something that will at least win an award. Q. If there is something you're wondering like... "Miss Priss, Who constructs your clown costumes?". A. The answer is... Me, myself and I. Every single last stitch. Sometimes it takes me years to look, study, and get ideas for a costume. Formed as a habit by now, I'm always scouring the shops for Priss fabric and accessories. You know, shopping. ~ It's the Priss way! |

I have so much love and respect for the art of clowning. It is my obligation as a representative for the clown "kingdom", to present my character in a professional, neat clean attire. I have been blessed with the ability to design, create and construct costumes. Therefore, I do so. A good clown doesn't need a plethora of costumes like MP. A good clown does need more than one. As a backup and to give that oh-so-fresh feeling that we can get with new clothes. It supports my clowns' character. It supports me, it supports the folks that encounter a clown. In a positive fashion. If clowns are positive, and endeover to contribute a positive experience to others, then it's up to us, the professional clown, to see to it that our appearance has a standard of excellence. Including make-up application and behaviour. It is up to us to re-impress and re-educate the public that have been frightened by ignorant clown "posers". Do we realize the power and the impact behind what we do? People experience us. Clowns are memory makers. Just look, an encounter with a clown if only for a moment ,the memory of that single moment is enough to carry on for years. We're in the family photo album, the child's baby book, video cameras, pictures on the wall. Grandma's wallet. They see us and they run. Hopefully, not the other way! |
